HighLevel Ask AI Computer: A Cloud Desktop for Your AI Assistant

Ask AI is HighLevel's built-in assistant. Two releases named in the Level Up 2026 recap give it much more reach. "Ask AI: Cloud-based computer workspace" gives it its own private computer to browse websites, run commands and work with files. "Ask AI: Phone and SMS dispatch capabilities" lets you call or text it when you're away from your desk. Here's what each one does, and the limits HighLevel documents.

What Ask AI Computer is

HighLevel describes it as "a private cloud-based computer that allows HighLevel's Ask AI assistant to interact with websites, use desktop tools, and complete tasks on your behalf." It differs from the older AI Browser Control extension, which controls a browser on your device. Ask AI Computer runs on its own cloud desktop.

What it can do, per HighLevel:

• Work on websites, including services that have no direct HighLevel integration
• Run commands and scripts in a terminal
• Open PDFs and files and generate downloadable files
• Install tools (Python packages, Node tools and command-line utilities), each install only with your approval

How to use it

1. In the sub-account, open Ask AI in the left menu and choose Computer in the Ask AI sidebar.
2. If the preview says Your computer is off, click Turn on.
3. Type the task in the chat, for example: research a topic across several sites and return a short list with links.
4. Watch the live preview. A status shows whether the computer has control, you're in control, or it's idle.
5. Click Take over to do something yourself, such as typing a one-time verification code, then Hand back so Ask AI can continue.

HighLevel says the computer sleeps after 15 minutes of inactivity and wakes when needed.

Phone Dispatch connects your personal phone to Ask AI. You get a dedicated Ask AI number you can call or text, and calls and texts share the same conversation, so you can start on a call and follow up by text.

• Look up contacts, add notes, update fields, move opportunity stages and check appointments
• Request blog drafts or email templates
• Send photos or files by text for Ask AI to work with
• Ask it to text you the details from a call

Setup: Ask AI → Customize → Dispatch → Phone → Connect Phone. Enter your number, verify it with a text code, and create a six-digit call PIN.

Limits:

• US +1 numbers only
• One number per location at a time
• The PIN can't be recovered, so pick one you'll remember
• A connected number belongs to the user who connected it
